With fuel prices soaring and our family growing we are in the market for a good dependable family car that gets great mileage. This… is not it. Though like most men with a pulse, I found myself hovering over it trying not to let the drool from my mouth get on the racing stripes.
The motor that is connected to that mouthy exhaust is 427-cubic-inch (7.0L) LS7 engine. Rated at 505 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, it is the most powerful engine ever installed in a production Corvette convertible – and, like the Z06, the 427 Convertible is only available with a six-speed manual transmission. In my opinion it is the only way to drive a car with more than 500 horsepower. This one happens to be the 60th anniversary package, featuring an Arctic White exterior with a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with suede accents. With a sticker of $91,000, this will never be parked in my garage. But hey a guy can dream right? Enjoy!
